Psalm 40:5 NIRV
Lord my God, no one can compare with you…
Opulent, exquisite beauty, a testimony to the love Mughal emperor Shah Jahan had for his wife Mumtaz Mahal. The Taj Mahal is a mausoleum the emperor had built after Mumtaz’s death. The splendor of architecture took many years to complete. Today, it is considered one of the finest example of Mughal architecture. Located in Agra, India, the Taj Mahal is a favorite place to visit when traveling in India.
I have wonderful memories from my day at the Taj Mahal in March 2016. I marveled at the details, jewel inlays and pristine white marble. Most fascinating to me is the way a light can shine through the marble. I loved this so much that I bought a small marble table and love the way it glows when I plug in the light. As grand as the mausoleum is I also marvel at the love story between the emperor and his wife. His love so deep that he wanted to display it to the world.
As romantic and beautiful as this place is, nothing compares to the Love the Lord has for us.
“Lord my God, no one can compare with you. You have done many miracles. And you plan to do many more for us. There are too many of them for me to talk about.” Psalm 40:5 NIRV.
In Psalm 136:1 we are reminded to
“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever.”
For the Lord our God, promises us a life of eternity, for those who believe in Jesus Christ.
In John 3:16 scripture tells us, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” It is through the death and resurrection of Christ, that we will have eternal life in the kingdom of God. And how glorious it will be. Even this mausoleum pales in comparison to the gates of God’s Kingdom.
As I reflect on Love So True, I know nothing can compare to that of Jesus willing to die for us, taking our sins and welcoming us to His Kingdom. As Psalm 145:5 says, “They will speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty and I will meditate on your wonderful works.”
May this poem I wrote remind you of the splendor of God’s Love So True.
Love So True
Nothing can compare
to my love for you.
I am here at the cross.
Don’t lose sight,
I am the light in front of you.
With love so true,
arms outstretched,
I am loving you.
Through my pain I bore your sin.
So, you may find heaven’s gain.
I am here at the cross.
Let my love sink in.
With love so true,
arms outstretched,
I am redeeming you.
The path is clear.
I hold you dear.
I am here at the cross.
With love so true.
hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah
With love so true,
arms outstretched,
I died for you.
Zephaniah 3:17
The Lord your God is with you,
he is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
he will quiet you his love,
he will rejoice over you with singing.
I pray that you know of Love So True!
xoxo Janice
